RAMBLA ROAD MEMBERSHIP
General information
- At a cost of five million dollars the private road was completed in November, 2013.
- The road is built to a standard that, we believe, is unmet by any public road in Malibu. The City required the two gates since the road passes over an old slide area even though the slide was determined to be inactive.
- The current cost to join is $150,000.
- Annual dues/maintenance fee is $2,200 per home.
- Membership is attached to the property and cannot be transferred separate from the property.
- There is a $1,000 transfer fee when a property is sold. This is payable through escrow by the seller.
- Bar codes are issued to each vehicle.
- Members must provide a copy of their Drivers License, vehicle registration and insurance.
- The call boxes allow guests to dial the member’s phone. When a member answers, they may speak to the person at the call box to verify identity and then may choose to allow access to the visitor by dialing “9.”
- All members agree to abide by the published road rules and be responsible for the actions of their guests.
- There is a limit to the number of members established by the City of Malibu.
